The Most Effective Methods For Marketing Health Products

We see infomercials’, pop-up ads, and all sorts of marketing tactics used by the health industry every day.  With most methods, we see studies or research information to support the claims of the marketer. This information is gathered for two reasons.

The first reason is to ensure there are no health hazardous associated with the health products and the second reason is to gather marketing research on how well it works.  Depending on what type of health products you are planning on marketing, there are some effective methods and some not so effective methods to marketing your health products.

There are three main types of health product marketing tactics; Suggestive by Influence, Suggestive by Health Implications, and Suggestive by Common influence.  Each tactic uses a specific gimmick to get the public to see the necessity in purchasing the health products.   Any of these three methods of marketing health products are done using a certain type of simulating influences that depends on the type of product.

For example: the super model and martial arts actor promoting the “Total fitness Gym” System. This is considered Suggestive by Influence marketing, since they use well known personalities for that specific health Product.  While other health products use different types of marketing methods to entice buyers such as before and after photos for weight loss health products or Medial advice by well known physicians on health implications, your choice in marketing methods depends on your targeted market.

Marketing by Influence

We’ve all watched special infomercials on late night television.  A celebrity host or someone in the health profession vouched for a product (which they probably do not use), trying to convince the mass public of the health benefits associated with that particular health product.

This marketing tactic is considered a suggestive tactic by influence.  In other words, a well known media personality endorses a health product to elicit trust in the product.   Since most people follow trends by popular public figures, this tactic is well known and widely used by health product marketer’s for targeted marketing tactics and mainly focuses on fitness equipment or cosmetic products.

Suggestive by Health Implications

Some health products yield special health protection or prevention capabilities.

This is true for some fitness products which state the implications associated with limiting your food intake while dieting.  In suggesting that such health products help to nourish the body with ‘super nutrients’, they sometimes overlook the importance of a basic, healthy diet.  This health product marketing tactic misleads the consumer into believing that dieting and popping pills is a healthy choice.

Suggestive by Common Influence

This type of health product marketing uses common everyday people to promote dramatic results and favor to a particular product.  They seem to find people who are just like their target audience using testimonials, product reviews and forum links.   This health product marketing method is widely used on the internet and can be seen on the health products web site as well as pop-up advertisements on the internet and within emails.

While other health product marketing tactics may used a combination of the three main types of marketing strategies; consumers make their final choice in selecting a health product by its ability to produce favorable results and at a reasonable cost.

When marketing health products, always stick to the facts, report validated statistics, give accurate information on expected results after using the product and avoid false claims and unrealistic expectations.  In other words, miracle claims of dramatic weight loss in ‘under two weeks’ is an unrealistic and unscientific way to lose body fat.
