The Patient’s Point of View

At a recent marketing conference in Connecticut, I caught up a good friend, Geo Derice. Geo is a marketing expert based in NY and I asked him “How can physical therapists identify with patients better, and stimulate more referrals?”.  Geo had a detailed response, and it is simple, yet very revealing.

    Great interview, it is essential to put yourself in the shoes of a patient. It is also important to get the patient excited about physical therapy which can be hard, but if they understand what and why you are doing a technique it will instill patient's confidence in your technique. Lastly, if you lay out the plan with the patient it can help them understand the process and put their mind at ease.
